- Uses

- Form (Affirmative)
- I/You/We/They + base verb: I eat, They study
- He/She/It + base + s/es: He eats, She goes
- Add s or es?
- Most verbs: +s (play → plays)
- Verbs ending in o, s, sh, ch, x, z: +es (go → goes, wash → washes)
- Verbs ending consonant + y: y → ies (study → studies; cry → cries)
- Vowel + y: +s (play → plays)
- Negatives
- I/You/We/They: do not (don’t) + base: I don’t eat
- He/She/It: does not (doesn’t) + base: He doesn’t eat
- Questions
- Do + I/you/we/they + base? Do you study?

- Short answers: Yes, I do. / No, he doesn’t.
