- 5‑minute drill plan + audio tips
1) TH vs T/D
- Voiceless TH: think, thank, three
- Tongue: Tip between teeth, blow air softly
- Hindi near sound: No exact match; NOT “ट/त”
- Voiced TH: this, that, those
- Same tongue position; add voice (vibration in throat)
Examples:

- that — dat (wrong), that (right)
Mini drill (10 reps each):
- think — thank — three

2) V vs W
- V: teeth on lower lip + voice (vibrate) → very, village, invite
- W: lips round (no teeth touch) → water, window, awake
Contrast pairs:
- vine — wine
- vest — west
- veal — wheel
- vow — wow
- seven — seven (V) vs sewen (W) — notice the difference
Mini drill (8 reps each):

3) R vs L
- R (Indian English tip): Lips slightly rounded, tongue not touching teeth/palate; pull back slightly → red, right, road
- L: Tip of tongue touches the ridge behind teeth → light, look, late
Contrast pairs:
- right — light
- rock — lock
- pray — play
- fry — fly
- arrive — alive
Mini drill (slow → normal):
- red road, red road, red road
- play, pray, play, pray
4) Short vs Long Vowels (i vs ee)

Audio Tips (How to Practice)
- Use your phone’s voice recorder for 30 seconds per set; compare first and last attempt.
- Slow first, then natural speed. Keep clarity over speed.
- Put a finger on your throat:
- V (vibrate) vs W (no vibration at lips)
- Voiced TH (vibrate) vs Voiceless TH (no vibration)
- For TH, show a tiny bit of tongue between teeth—air must pass.
- For long vowels, hold for 2 counts: “shee‑p” (not “ship”).
Practice Sentences (with easy Hindi meanings)
- Think three thoughts today. — Aaj teen soch socho.
- This village is very wet. — Ye gaon bahut geela hai.
